WHY POETRY?
Poetry is my first literary love. At the age of 12, I was selected to participate in a "Gifted Student Program." Creative writing was a weekly requirement and this is where I became initially exposed to this genre. It was "love at first write." The goal and challenge here as well, in the group's formation was to demystify this ancient art form, take it out of an academic context and bring it to audiences in a fun and enlightening way.
