Poets United is a community-based arts organization in Illinois, founded by Jennifer Brown Banks.
Its core membership comprises a veteran freelance writer (Jennifer Brown Banks),retired police officer (Gail Merriwether),
military veteran (A.D. Moore),
arts activist (Daryl Avery),
former librarian/Dept. Head- Harold Washington Branch (Deborah Taylor),
and dietician (Michael Bowie).
Poets United's mission is to increase exposure to and appreciation of the arts globally through:

EDUCATIONAL WORKSHOPS
LITERATURE
OUTREACH
Since its inception, Poets United has performed throughout Illinois (at colleges, coffeehouses, private functions, bookstores, etc.) to positive reviews, and has maintained a steady fan base in the process.
The organization has also provided a platform and publishing opportunities for other emerging and established creative artists via book signings, workshops, open mic forums, and networking events.
Poets United has also proudly assisted poets financially in bringing their projects to the public.
The seasoned group has published several anthologies of their collective works.

In 2021, Poets United was chosen as "FEATURED POETS" by Willow Review Magazine, for their literary achievements.
